How to install and activate your Ryoko eSIM (step-by-step)

Follow these steps to install and activate your Ryoko eSIM.

Before you start

Make sure:

  • You have a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi recommended)

  • Your device supports eSIM (check supported devices list)

  • Your device is carrier unlocked


For iPhone (iOS)

  1. Open the Camera app

  2. Point it at the eSIM QR code

  3. A notification like “Cellular Plan Detected” should appear

  4. Tap it and follow the installation steps

Alternatively:

Step 1: Open Settings

Go to Settings
 Tap Mobile Data or Cellular

Step 2: Add eSIM

Tap Add eSIM or Add Cellular Plan
 Select Use QR Code

Step 3: Scan your QR code

Use your camera to scan the QR code you received to your email
 Follow the on-screen instructions

Step 4: Complete setup

Label your eSIM (e.g. “Travel”)
Select it for mobile data
 Enable 
Data Roaming for the eSIM (you won’t be charged extra when using our eSIM)

Step 5: Activate

Your eSIM will activate based on your plan type


For Android


  1. Open the Camera

  2. Point it at the QR code

  3. Tap the pop-up notification/link

  4. Follow the prompts to install the eSIM


Alternatively:

Step 1: Open Settings

Go to Settings
 Tap Network & Internet or Connections

Step 2: Add eSIM

Tap SIMsSIM Manager, or Mobile Network
 Select Add eSIM or Add Mobile Plan
 Choose Scan QR Code

Step 3: Scan your QR code

Use your camera to scan the QR code you received to your email
 Follow the on-screen instructions

Step 4: Complete setup

Set the eSIM as preferred for mobile data
 Enable 
Data Roaming (you won’t be charged extra when using our eSIM)

Step 5: Activate

Your eSIM will activate based on your plan type


If installation fails

  • Check your internet connection

  • Make sure the QR code hasn’t already been used

  • Restart your device and try again
