Troubleshooting the most common first-time setup problems

Getting started with Ryoko should be simple, but if something doesn’t work right away, try these quick fixes.

  1. Device won’t turn on
  • Charge your Ryoko with the included USB‑C cable and a suitable charger.
  • Try a different power brick or outlet (up to 20W).
  • Press and hold the Power button for about 10–15 seconds to force a restart.

  1. Device says “Waiting for network”
  • Make sure you’re in an area with mobile coverage and avoid basements or enclosed spaces.
  • Leave Ryoko on for up to 30 minutes the first time you use it or after a long break - sometimes it needs extra time to register on the network. Same goes for when you cross the country border.
  • If it still shows “Waiting for network”, restart the device and check your data plan status in Self‑Service.

  1. Connected to Wi‑Fi but no internet
  • Confirm you’re connected to the correct “Ryoko” Wi‑Fi name with the right password.
  • Make sure the “4G” icon is green.
  • Move closer to a window or another spot with a better signal if the bars are low.
  • Restart Ryoko and your phone/laptop to refresh the connection.

If you’ve tried these steps and still can’t get online, take a photo of your Ryoko screen and contact support - this helps the team quickly see what’s going on and guide you further.
