Getting started with your Ryoko device should be quick and easy. If you run into any hiccups during your initial setup, here’s how to fix some common issues:
Device Won’t Turn On
- Check the power source: Ensure the charging cable is securely plugged into your Ryoko device and a working outlet or USB port.
- Try a different power brick or outlet: Sometimes power bricks may be too powerful or power sources are faulty.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds: This can reset the device if it’s not responding.
- Still not turning on? Contact us and, if possible, share a video showing the issue for quicker help.
Device Turns On but Shows “Waiting for Network”
- Connect your internet device to the Wi-Fi network named “Ryoko” on your device’s Wi-Fi list.
- If you don’t see “Ryoko” in the Wi-Fi list or cannot access the internet, be patient - it may take 10-30 minutes for your Ryoko to connect to the mobile network, especially for first-time use, after long inactivity, or when crossing country borders.
- Look for the “4G” icon on the Ryoko display; it should turn green once connected to the network.
- If after 30 minutes there’s still no internet and the 4G icon isn’t green, restart your Ryoko device.

Slow Speed
- Check the signal strength; weak mobile network signals reduce speeds. Moving your Ryoko to a different location may help.
- Limit the number of devices connected to your hotspot as having many devices sharing your connection will reduce available bandwidth per device.
- Schedule large downloads or streaming during off-peak times when fewer devices are connected.
Intermittent Connection or Drops
- Network congestion or weak signal can cause drops. Move to a location with better reception or reduce the number of connected devices.
